The Boomerang Sofa, designed by Adrian Pearsall in the 1960s, is an iconic piece of mid-century modern furniture celebrated for its sculptural form and distinctive silhouette. For this project, we recreated the sofa through detailed 3D modeling and rendering, focusing on both its historical authenticity and its updated reupholstered finish in a rich moss green fabric.
The model captures the sofa’s hallmark sweeping curves and low profile, supported by a solid wood base that emphasizes craftsmanship and durability. By employing advanced rendering techniques, we highlighted the texture of the reupholstered fabric, the grain of the wooden frame, and the unique proportions that make this design timeless.
This visualization not only preserves the design’s mid-century heritage, but also provides a modern presentation for use in product catalogs, design archives, and furniture staging concepts. The digital reproduction allows for accurate visualization of scale and materials, reducing reliance on photography while ensuring design integrity is maintained.
Through 3D product visualization, classic furniture pieces like the Boomerang Sofa can be celebrated in new ways — bridging history, design innovation, and modern digital storytelling.
